Terminal CLI (nsq)Install and quick start

Install and quick start

Requirements

  • Node.js 22.13 or newer (nodejs.org ).
  • Windows (x64, arm64), macOS (Apple silicon, Intel) or Linux (x64, arm64). Native parts come prebuilt — no compiler needed.
  • At least one agent CLI you already use and are signed in to: Claude Code, Codex CLI or OpenCode. nsq starts them; it does not install them.
  • curl on PATH (Claude Code and Codex report their status through it). It ships with Windows 10 and later, macOS and most Linux distributions.

Install

npm install -g neurosquad # then run: nsq npx neurosquad # or try it without installing

The command is nsq. Check the install with nsq doctor: it lists the agent CLIs it found, the daemon, curl, the terminal and the OpenRouter key.

Package managers and one-line install scripts follow the npm release: Homebrew (brew install glmn-ai/neurosquad/neurosquad-cli), Scoop (scoop bucket add neurosquad https://github.com/glmn-ai/scoop-neurosquad, then scoop install neurosquad-cli) and install scripts that use your own npm. Until they are live, use npm.

Quick start

Start an agent on a task
nsq run claude "fix the flaky checkout test" --worktree

--worktree gives the agent its own branch and checkout, so several agents can work on one repository without stepping on each other.

Start another one
nsq run codex --name reviewer
Or any command
nsq run -- npm run dev
Open the dashboard
nsq

A grid of live terminals. When an agent needs you, its tile lights up with the question; press y, a or n to answer, Enter to open it full screen, q to leave — the agents keep running.

Check on them from anywhere
nsq ls

Status, the pending question and the cost of each agent, from any terminal.

Agents start in the current folder. Next: the dashboard and its keys.
